TIEHAUS classes are designed for riggers and rope bottoms with little or no experience. Classes are progressive and build upon the skills learned in the previous session.
- Rope (hemp or jute is recommended)
- Cutting tool (DO NOT BRING EMT SCISSORS - we recommend these)
- Yoga mat/blanket/or towel, water bottle
- Jacket or blanket (the event space can get a little chilly)
- Notebook & writing implement
We do recommend having a partner when signing up for any of our workshops, mainly because you'll be able to practice in class and fully immerse yourself in the experience. Partners are required for the BEGINNERS COURSE: PART 2.
Classes are between 2 and 3 hours, followed by a rope social.

QUALIFIED INSTRUCTORS
Instructors Badlittledoe and Rhapsodic are established members of the Los Angeles rope community and graduates of the 20-month Devil Mask Society cell program. We are passionate about making rope education inclusive and accessible, as well as building the Long Beach rope community.
LOCAL
While LA proper, Orange County and cities inland have active rope communities, Long Beach and the surrounding areas are experiencing a bit of a dry spell. Our goal is to invest in our Long Beach kink community and help create a consistent resource for those looking to join the rope community.
Devil Mask Society is a Los Angeles based group of kinbaku enthusiasts focused on education and advancement of the art. DMS provides a 20-month intensive rope course for cohorts called cells. Both Rhapsodic and BadLittleDoe are graduates of the cell classes and members of the DMS family. TIEHAUS courses are based upon Devil Mask Society curriculum, but are organized separately.
Everyone! As long as you're 18+, respectful, and considerate of others in class, we would love for you to be a part of our rope community. Female tops, male bottoms, poly groups, queer/non-binary folks, straight, vanilla... all are welcome!
In short, yes, BUT TIEHAUS participants come from a variety of different professions and life situations that may affect how “out” they are about their participation in kink activities. You are free to take photos of your own work only, with the consent of everyone in the image (including but not limited to if the photo is shared and where the photo may be uploaded). Please be mindful of any people who may be in the background of your photo unintentionally, as well as the effect of any mirrors may have on who is captured in the photo.
Videography or audio recording is not allowed. TIEHAUS is working to develop and share recordings of the material taught in these courses.

TieHaus provides introductory rope classes for the local Long Beach and surrounding communities that focus on safety, negotiation, and consent for a good foundation for rope bondage.

ROPE FAMILY
TIEHAUS is affiliated with The Devil Mask Society. Its teachers are well seasoned rope tops and bottoms that have been through the DMS program and are active in the rope community.
18+ YEARS OR OLDER! If you are under 18, this site and our workshops/events are not for you. A valid form of ID will be checked before entering any event or participating in any class. Anyone underage or without a valid ID will not be allowed to enter or participate.
TIEHAUS classes refresh every month, so even if you don't make it in this month, check back next month! If you'd like to be put onto a wait list in case a slot opens up, please email TIEHAUS.ropegroup@gmail.com

BADLITTLEDOE has been practicing in the kink community since 2011. Having served as both a sub and Dom, her insight on both perspectives helps provide new approaches to the conversation between a top and a bottom. She’s a graduate of Devil Mask Society’s 6th Cell; a 20th month rope course. While she enjoys practicing shibari as an art form, she is tedious about anatomy and its impact on rope play. She practices daily with her wife badlittlekoala, testing out ideas she finds on Instagram, while musing her own concepts.
RHAPSODIC (they/them) is a switch, rigger, and rope instructor based in Long Beach, CA. A graduate of Devil Mask Society's 4th Cell and Teaching Assistant for 5th and 6th Cells, they are passionate about making good rope instruction accessible to all members of the kink community. They enjoy teaching riggers who may not see their gender represented in the rope community, people who tie bottoms who are bigger than them, and encouraging representation of the queer community in rope.At TIEHAUS, we have limited spots available every month. We understand that sometimes life gets a little crazy, but when we don't receive any notifications of your absence, your course slot could go to someone else that was on our waiting list. Please let us know 48hrs before class if you will not be able to attend.
If you miss a Beginners Class, you will be given a strike.
If you miss an intensive with a guest teacher, you will automatically be given 3 strikes.
